(CBS) Twenty years ago, Nancy Lynch had nasal reconstruction, but the years have taken their toll... 'Lunchtime Nose Jobs
The 'filler' is actually a substance called Restylane. It's injected into the nose and then, "I can mold it with my fingers to get the most aesthetically pleasing shape," said Dr. Lisa Donofrio, Associate Clinical Professor of Dermatology for Yale University School of Medicine.
Reshaping the nose with Restylane rarely requires a local anesthetic and it's fast! Dr. Donofrio says the procedure usually takes anywhere from five to 15 minutes.
Of course, lunchtime nose jobs aren't for everyone, advises Dr. Donofrio, "Someone who has an extremely large nose that only wants the nose to be smaller is not a good candidate for this procedure."
Restylane must be re-injected every six to 12 months, too. Still, at a fraction of the cost of traditional surgery, and with no downtime, lunchtime nose jobs are winning fans.
