As more middle-aged women resort to surgery to look younger, journalist and broadcaster Amanda Platell got a new face without going under the knife.
Like many women approaching 50, Amanda felt a large amount of pressure on her to look fabulous at 50, thanks to role models such as Lulu, Goldie Hawn, Diane Keaton and Susan Sarandon.
Yet despite this, Amanda felt there's still a stigma attached to cosmetic surgery. She settled on the N-Lite treatment at Freedomhealth, in London's West End, under the care of Dr Sean Cummings and Lee Garrett.
Microdermabrasion, in which sand-like crystals were blasted onto the skin to clean the surface. They are then removed by what is in effect a tiny vacuum - this also serves to remove dead cells.
