Rounding out the top five are liposuction, with an average cost of $3,000; rhinoplasty or nose jobs, running about $4,000; eyelid surgery, which costs about $3,000; and face-lifts, which cost about $6,000.

Not only are physical appearances changing, but so are attitudes about having work done. Sandra White isn't hiding the fact that she's getting a face-lift.

"Most women want less of an aggressive change. They want tweaking, if you will," he said. "We're seeing a patient population that wants less of a procedure at an earlier age in life."

In the past, women would wait until they were 60 or 70 years old to get a face-lift, when recovery would take at least three weeks. White is getting the short-scar face-lift, which means that the incision will not have to be as long and she could be back at work within a week.

Because the procedure is less invasive, it's also more affordable. A short-scar face-lift runs between $3,000 and $5,000. A traditional face-lift can be twice that amount.
