Dallas resident Terry Langfitt says men are impacted, too, and he says as you get older you feel the change. "No matter what we want to think out there, it's a young man's game. And, um whenever you go in to meet with people and talk about your next project and that kind of thing, they look at you like... ‘Maybe we can get somebody a little younger'."

What's a guy to do? The Dallas film composer and playwright does everything he can to stay healthy. Langfitt jogs with friends around White Rock Lake and just finished running a marathon.

But Langfitt says his big smile and years of sun exposure have given him crow's feet. So he decided to get Botox injections to freshen up his appearance.

"What I expect is to get rid of these little guys on the side here and uh, brighten up my face a little bit so you don't look so tired," Langfitt said.

Apparently Terry's not the only one seeking out the cosmetic procedure. The American Society for Esthetic Plastic Surgery reports that last year 9% of the more than three million Americans who had Botox injections were men.

"More individuals in general and certainly men also are more comfortable with having a cosmetic procedure whether it's surgical or non-surgical. And I think that the stigma of men having an improvement in their appearance is fading," said plastic surgeon, Dr. Ramsey Choucair.

"There are mild side effects such as, you know, mild redness at the injection site, some swelling occasionally, but for the most part the complications are really negligible."

"The average price of a Botox injection is about $383.17 and I think you can find it in a range above and below that all over the metroplex," he said.

Terry is really happy with his results and encourages other men to take action if they're worried about maintaining a more youthful appearance.

"I think the older you get, past the age of pretension's what I call it, when things just aren't like they used to be, you know what I mean,… go ahead, get it done. I mean if it makes you feel good, who cares?"
