GRANDE PRAIRIE, Alta. — The name has been associated with the Canadian women's curling championship for so long that most competitors refer to it simply as ‘‘The Scott'' — even though it's the brand name of the sponsor.

The change has the look and feel of cosmetic surgery — effective immediately, the Scott Tournament of Hearts will become the Scotties Tournament of Hearts.

Back on the ice in the afternoon, Scott reeled off an 8-4 triumph over Switzerland then followed by curling 92 per cent in a 13-3 six-end thrashing of The Netherlands on the evening draw.
