Rebecca, a retired UPMC nurse, and Kolodychak have three children -- Kayla Patricia, 7, Alexander Michael, 5 and Andrew Thomas, who will be 3 in September.
Although he has on-call responsibilities, Kolodychak gets home as often as possible. A died-hard Pittsburgh sports fan, Kolodychak attends Pitt games with his father, Tom, in North Charleroi, and younger brothers, Tim in Belle Vernon, Pat in North Charleroi, and Joe in Beaver.
Kolodychak laughs when he notes that he is trying to learn to play golf. He worked throughout the time he was attending school, so he only now finds any free time for the sport many associate with doctors.
